    Daniel and his friends did not Bow
    down to baal as per the king's order (also called government). Some people may call that disrespect, that they opposed the king's leadership. But they had God given conscience not to obey. You don't have to follow the crowd. Set apart yourself for God whatever be the consequences!!!

    Centre won't dare to send a governor who does not even know basic English..
    India is a diverse country if you can't read simple English better go and serve on BJP States

    Ardent is too emotional!! he and his team shows a display of irritionality and lack of understanding of procedures. They broke decorum in the house by disrupting the Governor in the middle of his speech, which shows lack of understanding of rules and regulations despite knowing that they have a seperate session tomorrow regarding the discussion of this speech being given in hindi and the inclusion of Khasi & Garo language in the 8th schedule. They won't win anything by being too emotional.
    Yes, this issue regarding Hindi being spoken in the house should be address, but it should be in a proper manner, they should have not distrupt in the middle of the speech, they should have waited at least when the session starts despite the issue to be discussed is for tomorrow. Hence, his tantrum was expunged.🤷‍♂️

      And they want English, which is the most privileged language ever, only understood by the educated and privileged. It's funny how they claim to be for the people, yet they forgot about those who don't know English. 😅

      @@deen995 have you seen the statistics? In meghalaya atleast over 75% knows or understand the English language. The percentage of people who know hindi is very very less. So your point is invalid.

    • @deen995
      @deen995 Год назад +3

      @@desmond451 Could you kindly tell me where I can find the statistics you mentioned earlier? Also, would you please provide me with the link so that I can read it? The reason I'm asking is that the statistics I have read show the following:
      • Khasi (33.82%)
      • Garo (31.60%)
      • Pnar (10.69%)
      • Bengali (6.44%)
      • Nepali (1.85%)
      • War (1.73%)
      • Hindi (1.62%)
      • Hajong (1.40%)
      • Assamese (1.34%)
      • Others (9.51%)
      There is no mention of English being 75% as you had mentioned earlier. However, you are correct in stating that English is an official language of Meghalaya. According to 'The Gazette of Meghalaya - Meghalaya State Language Act 2005,' English is recognized as an official language alongside Khasi & Garo. Given below is from the official document:
      *Official Language of the State of Meghalaya: 3. Without prejudice to the provisions of Articles 343 and 347 of the Constitution of India and the State Legislature (continuance of the English Language) Act, 1980 and subject to as hereinafter provided, English language, shall continue to be the official language of the State of Meghalaya.
      *Associate official
      language(s) of the State: 4. Notwithstanding anything contained in Section 3, the Khasi language may be used as the associate official language
      for all purposes in the District, Sub-Divisions and Block Level offices of the State Government located in the Districts of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi. The Garo Language may be used as associate official language for all purposes in the districts, Sub-Divisions and Block Level Offices o f East Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills: Provided that only the English language shall continue to be used in all civil and Criminal Courts located in the State; Provided, further, that all inter-district official communications shall continue to be in the English Language.
      There are no special mentions that the usage of the official language, i.e., English and the associated official languages, i.e., Khasi and Garo, should be imposed on the Assembly except in the above-mentioned cases. So, you are correct in saying that English is the official language of Meghalaya, but the official and associated languages can only be used in the offices of different districts, sub-divisions, and block levels of the state. Only the English language should be used in civil and criminal courts. I have stated my facts, and I hope you have others to back your claims. It's fun to exchange learning.
      My sources: The Gazette of Meghalaya- The State Language of Meghalaya Act, 2005 & 2011 census language and mother tongue.

    The position adopted by the VPP and most of the Khasi politicians are unfortunately not justified. The reasons being:
    - The official and national language of India is Hindi regardless of what local language is spoken in any given region
    - Governor chose Hindi because of his inability to address in English. He did not use any other regional language non-local to Meghalaya
    - India is a very diverse country culturally and linguistically, and hence the purpose of the official language is to bridge such gaps and unite the nation.
    The mentality displayed by some of these Khasi personalities is sadly akin to cavemen era which has no place in the 21st century.

    • @desmond451
      @desmond451 Год назад +3

      India doesn't have a national language but only an official language. Please do some proper learning before you embarrass yourself. Coming to your second point, if it's officially stated that English is the official language in this state, why doesn't the Government of India send somebody who can't speak the language? Third you said their behavior is akin to some cavemen. Have you seen how unruly the politicians of the other states behave?? Don't try to mislead without properly knowing the facts.

    • @Achilles946
      @Achilles946 Год назад

      There is no national language of India as per the constitution, Hindi and English both are considered the official language of India.
      Secondly this is the political agenda of the Centre who wanted to impose Hindi as a national language.
      Thirdly, yes India is a diverse country and so the Governor should know that in Meghalaya majority of the population could understand English much better than Hindi.
